Mexican amber is fossilised resin that once exuded from the bark of an ancient long extinct tree, it is mined in the South of Mexico, in the state of Chiapas.
The resins antiseptic properties protected the tree from disease and attacks from insects, this resin acted as a sticky trap capturing flora and fauna.
Mexican amber is one of the highest quality ambers in the world and unlike other amber stones, our Chiapas amber is famous for its totally natural colours and inclusions, capturing a moment frozen in time from millions of years ago...
The ancient Mayans treasured amber and would offer it as a tribute to the Aztecs. The Spanish Conquistadores tell of the Aztec emperor, Moctezuma stirring his chocolate with an amber spoon.
Mexican amber is believed to absorb pain and negative energy, helping to alleviate stress.
